On Monday March 25th 2024, at approximately 6:50am, 1 District (St. Catharines/Thorold) uniform officers with the Niagara Regional Police Service attended the area of Division Street and Frank Street in the City of St. Catharines in regards to a fire call.
Investigation revealed that a detached garage at the rear of a residence in this location was engulfed in flames. The St. Catharines Fire Department arrived on scene and extinguished the fire.
An adult female was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of the fire.
1 District detectives have taken carriage of the investigation and are working with the Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office and the office of the Coroner.
Detectives are looking for anyone with information about the fire or who may have been in the area over night from late March 24th until 7:00 am on March 25th, 2024.
