The death of a 23-year-old man in a drowning incident at Hardy Park in Brockville is currently under investigation by the coroner’s office.

According to the Brockville Police Service, emergency services were called to the park on Sunday afternoon after receiving reports of a possible drowning. Upon arrival, they found the man unresponsive in the water.

Despite efforts to resuscitate him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The coroner’s office was then notified and has since taken over the investigation.

At this time, the identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The cause of death has also not been determined and an autopsy is scheduled to take place in Ottawa.
