A man in Toronto’s west end has been left with serious injuries after being pinned against a wall on Monday evening.
According to Toronto police, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the area of Bloor Street West and Lansdowne Avenue.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was reportedly walking along the sidewalk when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle. The impact caused him to be pinned against a nearby wall.
Emergency services were called to the scene and the man was transported to a trauma centre with serious injuries. His current condition is unknown.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with police. It is unclear at this time if any charges will be laid.
The intersection of Bloor Street West and Lansdowne Avenue was closed for several hours as police investigated the incident. It has since been reopened.
Police are appealing to any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
