Three young boys, aged 12 to 14, have been charged in connection with an armed robbery in Fort Erie, according to police.
The incident occurred on Monday evening at a convenience store on Garrison Road. The three boys, who cannot be named due to their age, allegedly entered the store with a weapon and demanded money from the clerk.
The clerk complied with their demands and the boys fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No one was injured during the incident.
Police were able to track down the suspects and they were arrested on Tuesday. They have been charged with robbery with a weapon and disguise with intent.
The boys appeared in court on Wednesday and have been remanded into custody. They are scheduled to appear in court again on Friday for a bail hearing.
The Fort Erie Police Service is reminding the public that anyone under the age of 18 cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
