A shocking incident in Pickering has left authorities and community members concerned for the safety of young children. According to police, a toddler and two other children were left unsupervised in a parking lot for four hours while their mothers went to a nearby casino.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday evening, was brought to the attention of authorities when a concerned citizen noticed the children alone in the parking lot and called 911. Upon arrival, police found a 2-year-old, a 4-year-old, and a 6-year-old, all of whom were reportedly left in a vehicle with the windows rolled down.

The mothers, who have not been identified, were located inside the casino and were subsequently arrested and charged with child abandonment. They have since been released and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.

The children were taken into the care of the Children’s Aid Society and have since been reunited with their fathers. Thankfully, they were unharmed and in good health.
