A large moose has been spotted wandering through the streets of Oakville, causing quite a stir among residents.
According to witnesses, the moose was first seen early this morning near the intersection of Main Street and Oakwood Avenue. It then made its way through several residential neighborhoods, causing some concern among locals.
One resident, Sarah Johnson, described the encounter as “surreal.” She said she was out for a morning walk when she saw the moose walking down her street. “I couldn’t believe my eyes,” she said. “I’ve never seen a moose in real life before.”
The Oakville Police Department was immediately notified and they quickly sprang into action. Officers were able to track the moose’s movements and safely guide it away from heavily populated areas.
Sergeant Mark Thompson of the Oakville Police Department stated that the moose appeared to be healthy and uninjured. “We believe it may have wandered into the city from a nearby wooded area,” he said.
The moose was eventually led back to its natural habitat without incident. No injuries were reported during the incident.
