Mississauga police have uncovered a rental car agency that was allegedly involved in re-vinning stolen vehicles.
According to authorities, the investigation began when a stolen vehicle was found at the rental car agency’s location on Dundas Street East. Further investigation revealed that the vehicle had been re-vinned, meaning its vehicle identification number (VIN) had been altered to conceal its true identity.
Police believe that the rental car agency was obtaining stolen vehicles and then re-vinning them in order to rent them out to unsuspecting customers.
