A search for a person in distress is currently underway in the Toronto Beach area, according to local authorities.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 9:30 a.m. on Sunday after reports of a person in the water near the Balmy Beach Club.
Toronto Fire Services, Toronto Police, and the Canadian Coast Guard have all been involved in the search, with a helicopter also being deployed to assist in the efforts.
At this time, it is unclear how the person ended up in the water or their current condition. However, witnesses at the scene reported seeing someone struggling in the water before disappearing from sight.
The search is ongoing and authorities are urging the public to avoid the area to allow for the search to continue uninterrupted.
