Josh Classen's forecast: Cool spell settles in

Edmonton and its surrounding areas are in for a cool spell as temperatures are expected to drop in the coming days. According to meteorologist Josh Classen, the region will experience a significant drop in temperatures, bringing a chill to the air.

Classen predicts that the cool spell will settle in on Thursday, with temperatures dropping to -10°C overnight. Friday will see a high of only -4°C, with a mix of sun and clouds. The weekend will bring even colder temperatures, with a high of -8°C on Saturday and -10°C on Sunday.

The cool spell is expected to last for at least a week, with temperatures remaining below freezing during the day and dropping to -15°C overnight. Classen advises residents to bundle up and prepare for the cold weather ahead.

This sudden drop in temperatures is due to a cold front moving in from the north, bringing with it arctic air. This will also bring a chance of flurries and light snow throughout the week, with accumulations of up to 5 cm in some areas.

Classen also warns of potential wind chill, making the already cold temperatures feel even colder. He advises people to limit their time outdoors and to dress warmly if they do need to go outside.

As always, it is important to stay updated on the weather forecast and to take necessary precautions during this cool spell. Stay warm, Edmonton.
