Sergeant Janelle Shoihet, spokesperson for the RCMP, warns residents to be cautious and vigilant when receiving unsolicited calls or emails. She advises individuals to never give out personal information over the phone or through email, especially to unknown individuals.

Northern Health has also released a statement, clarifying that they do not conduct surveys over the phone or through email. They urge residents to verify the identity of anyone claiming to be from Northern Health by asking for their name, position, and contact information.

The RCMP is working closely with Northern Health to investigate these reports and identify the individuals responsible for this fraudulent activity. They are also reminding residents to report any suspicious calls or emails to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

In the meantime, authorities are reminding the public to be cautious and to never give out personal information to unknown individuals. They also advise individuals to educate their family and friends about these types of scams to prevent them from falling victim.

The RCMP and Northern Health are committed to ensuring the safety and security of residents in the Northern Health region.
