Ottawa Senators’ forward Brady Tkachuk is no stranger to early playoff exits. In fact, he’s sick and tired of them.
After yet another disappointing season for the Senators, Tkachuk expressed his frustration with the team’s inability to make it past April. “It’s just not good enough,” he stated in a recent interview. “We work hard all season long, only to fall short in the playoffs. It’s frustrating and it needs to change.”
Tkachuk, who has been with the Senators since 2018, has yet to experience a playoff run with the team. In his three seasons with the Senators, they have failed to make it past the regular season. This year, they finished with a record of 23-28-5, placing them second to last in the North Division.
Despite the team’s struggles, Tkachuk has been a standout player, leading the team in goals and points this season. However, individual success is not enough for the 21-year-old forward. “I want to win, that’s all that matters to me,” he stated. “I want to bring a championship to this city and this organization.”
Tkachuk’s frustration is shared by many Senators fans, who have been waiting for a playoff appearance since the team’s last run in 2017. The team’s lack of success has led to a decline in attendance and support from the community.
But Tkachuk remains optimistic and determined to turn things around for the Senators. “We have a great group of guys here and we’re all hungry for success,” he said. “We just need to come together and make it happen.”
As the Senators look towards the future, Tkachuk’s words serve as a reminder of the team’s ultimate goal – to bring a Stanley Cup to Ottawa. And with his determination and drive, it’s only a matter of time before the Senators break their April curse and make a deep playoff run.
