Real True News

A truck driver has been charged after a crash in Brockville resulted in a load of beer kegs tumbling off the vehicle.

According to reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon on Highway 401 near Stewart Boulevard. The truck, which was carrying a shipment of beer kegs, lost control and overturned, causing the kegs to spill onto the road.

The driver, who has not been named, was charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act. No injuries were reported in the crash.

The incident caused a temporary closure of the highway, as crews worked to clean up the spilled kegs and debris. The highway has since been reopened.

This is not the first time a truck carrying alcohol has been involved in a crash in the Brockville area. In 2018, a similar incident occurred on the same stretch of highway, resulting in a large amount of beer being spilled onto the road.

Authorities are reminding drivers to exercise caution and follow all traffic laws, especially when transporting potentially hazardous materials.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Brockville Police Service.
