Brantford, ON – The Brantford Expositor is proud to announce that local track and field athlete, Sarah Van Nooten, has been named the Track and Field Athlete of the Year.
Van Nooten, a graduate of Pauline Johnson Collegiate and Vocational School, has had an impressive year in the world of track and field. She has consistently shown her dedication and talent in various competitions, making her a standout athlete in the community.
Her achievements include winning the 100m and 200m races at the OFSAA championships, as well as setting a new personal best in the 400m race. She also represented Canada at the Pan American Junior Championships, where she placed fourth in the 200m race.
Van Nooten’s hard work and determination have not gone unnoticed, as she has been recognized by the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) and Athletics Ontario. She was also named the Female Athlete of the Year by the Brantford Track and Field Club.
In addition to her athletic achievements, Van Nooten has also excelled academically, maintaining an impressive average while balancing her training and competitions.
Her coach, John Smith, praised Van Nooten for her dedication and positive attitude, stating, “Sarah is a true role model for young athletes. She is not only a talented runner, but also a great teammate and leader.”
Van Nooten’s success on and off the track has made her a source of pride for the Brantford community. She has proven that hard work and determination can lead to great achievements, and her future in the world of track and field looks bright.
