Police in Abbotsford are seeking witnesses and video footage in their investigation of a suspicious death.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on March 10th at around 10:30 pm in the 2700 block of Mitchell Street. The victim, a 38-year-old man, was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the scene.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the case and is working alongside the Abbotsford Police Department. They are asking anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident to come forward with any information or video footage that could assist in their investigation.
Sergeant Frank Jang, spokesperson for IHIT, emphasized the importance of community cooperation in solving this case. He stated, “We know there were people in the area at the time of the incident and we urge them to contact IHIT immediately. Even the smallest piece of information could be crucial in helping us piece together what happened.”
The victim’s identity has not been released at this time, pending notification of next of kin. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week to determine the cause of death.
Police have not provided any further details about the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death, but they have confirmed that it is an isolated incident and there is no risk to the public.
