A homicide investigation has been launched after a missing man from Kamloops was discovered deceased in a creek outside of Kelowna.
The victim, identified as 33-year-old Michael Jones, was reported missing by his family on Monday. His body was found on Tuesday in a creek near Postill Lake Road, approximately 30 kilometers outside of Kelowna.
According to the RCMP, Jones’ death is being treated as a homicide and the investigation is ongoing. The cause of death has not been released at this time.
Sgt. Janelle Shoihet stated that the RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit is leading the investigation and is working closely with the BC Coroners Service.
The RCMP is asking anyone with information about Jones’ disappearance or death to come forward and speak with investigators.
