Real True News

The Montreal Alouettes have made a significant move in their roster, releasing veteran CFL receiver and returner, Chandler Worthy.

Worthy, who joined the Alouettes in 2019, played in 14 games and recorded 27 receptions for 279 yards. He also returned 24 punts for 226 yards and 14 kickoffs for 296 yards.

In a statement released by the team, Alouettes General Manager Danny Maciocia expressed his gratitude towards Worthy for his contributions to the team.

“Chandler has been a valuable member of our team and we thank him for his hard work and dedication,” said Maciocia. “We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”

Worthy, a native of Troy, New York, played college football at Troy University before joining the CFL in 2016 with the Edmonton Eskimos. He also spent time with the Toronto Argonauts before joining the Alouettes.

The 28-year-old receiver and returner has shown promise throughout his career, but the Alouettes have decided to part ways with him as they continue to make changes to their roster.

This move comes as the Alouettes prepare for the upcoming CFL season, which is set to begin in August after being postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Alouettes have been making several changes to their roster in the past few months, including signing quarterback Trevor Harris and releasing veteran receiver DeVier Posey.

As the team continues to make adjustments, fans eagerly await the start of the season and the opportunity to see the new roster in action.

The Montreal Alouettes have a rich history in the CFL and are determined to make a strong comeback after a challenging 2019 season. With the release of Worthy, the team is making strategic moves to build a competitive and successful team for the upcoming season.
