Trafficking charges laid after several types of drugs seized from Drumheller, Alta. home

Drumheller, Alta. – A major drug bust in Drumheller has resulted in multiple trafficking charges being laid against two individuals.

According to the RCMP, a search warrant was executed on a home in Drumheller on March 25, resulting in the seizure of various types of drugs including methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and psilocybin (magic mushrooms).

As a result of the investigation, 33-year-old Christopher James and 31-year-old Kaitlyn James have been charged with multiple counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The RCMP also seized a significant amount of cash, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm from the residence.

Sgt. Gerald Sherk, the acting detachment commander for Drumheller RCMP, stated that this bust is a significant win for the community.

“The seizure of these drugs and the laying of charges against these individuals will have a positive impact on the safety and well-being of our community,” said Sgt. Sherk.

The RCMP also thanked the public for their assistance in this investigation and encouraged anyone with information about drug activity to come forward.

Both Christopher and Kaitlyn James have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court on April 28.
