It has been nearly five months since 76-year-old John Smith went missing, and his family is still desperately searching for answers.
Smith was last seen on November 15, 2020, leaving his home in Winnipeg’s North End. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and a baseball cap at the time of his disappearance.
Despite extensive efforts by the Winnipeg Police Service and community volunteers, Smith has not been found.
His family is pleading for anyone with information to come forward. They are worried about his well-being, as he suffers from dementia and requires daily medication.
Smith’s daughter, Sarah, says the past few months have been a nightmare for their family. “We miss him so much and just want him to come home,” she says.
The Winnipeg Police Service has been actively investigating Smith’s disappearance, but so far, there have been no significant leads.
“We are doing everything we can to find Mr. Smith and bring him back to his family,” says Constable Jane Doe of the Winnipeg Police Service.
The family has also been conducting their own search efforts, posting flyers and reaching out to the community for help.
“We are grateful for the support we have received from the community, but we need more help to find my dad,” says Sarah.
Smith’s family is urging anyone with information to contact the Winnipeg Police Service or Crime Stoppers. They are also asking residents in the North End to check their properties and garages for any signs of Smith.
As the search for John Smith continues, his family remains hopeful that he will be found safe and sound. They are holding onto the belief that someone out there knows something and will come forward with information.
In the meantime, they are asking for the public’s assistance in bringing their beloved father and husband back home.
