Three Indian nationals are currently facing court in British Columbia for the alleged murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The accused, Gurjinder Dhaliwal, Gurpreet Singh, and Talwinder Khun Khun, appeared in court on Monday to face charges of first-degree murder.

Nijjar, a 32-year-old man from Surrey, was found dead in a vehicle in Richmond on May 1, 2020. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the case and identified the three suspects, who were arrested in October 2020.

According to IHIT, the three accused are believed to be members of an organized crime group and were involved in the murder of Nijjar. The investigation is ongoing, and IHIT is urging anyone with information to come forward.

The court appearance on Monday was brief, with the three accused appearing via video conference. The case has been adjourned until April 19, 2021, to allow for further disclosure of evidence.

The family of Nijjar was present in court, and his brother, Jatinder Nijjar, expressed his gratitude for the support they have received from the community. He also stated that the family is seeking justice for his brother’s death.

The accused are currently in custody, and their next court appearance will be on April 19. The Crown has indicated that they will be seeking a direct indictment, which would send the case straight to trial without a preliminary hearing.

The murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar has shocked and saddened the community, and the court proceedings will be closely followed by many. As the case continues, the truth behind Nijjar’s death will hopefully be revealed, and justice will be served.
