'I love being doubted': Canucks' coach embraces underdog role ahead of Round 2

As the Vancouver Canucks prepare for the second round of the playoffs, head coach Travis Green is embracing the team’s underdog role.

Despite being the lowest seed in the North Division, the Canucks have managed to upset the higher-ranked teams and advance to the second round. And Green is relishing in the doubt and skepticism surrounding his team.

“I love being doubted,” Green said in a recent interview. “It fuels me and it fuels our team. We thrive off of it.”

Green’s confidence in his team is evident, even in the face of criticism and doubt from the media and fans. He believes that the Canucks have what it takes to continue their success in the playoffs.

“We have a resilient group of players who have shown that they can rise to the occasion,” Green stated. “We have a strong work ethic and a never-give-up attitude that has carried us through the regular season and into the playoffs.”

The Canucks’ journey to the second round has not been an easy one. They faced a tough opponent in the first round, the defending Stanley Cup champions, the St. Louis Blues. But the Canucks were able to overcome the odds and defeat the Blues in six games.

“We knew it was going to be a tough series, but we never doubted ourselves,” Green said. “We stuck to our game plan and executed it to perfection.”

Now, as they face the top-seeded team in the North Division, the Toronto Maple Leafs, Green and the Canucks are once again being doubted. But Green sees this as an opportunity for his team to prove their critics wrong once again.

“We know that Toronto is a strong team, but we are not intimidated,” Green stated. “We have a game plan and we are going to stick to it. We have nothing to lose and everything to gain.”

Green’s confidence and belief in his team is contagious, and the Canucks are ready to embrace their underdog role and continue their journey in the playoffs.

“We are not satisfied with just making it to the second round,” Green said. “We want to keep going and prove that we belong here.”

As the Canucks prepare for their second round matchup against the Maple Leafs, one thing is for sure – they have a coach who believes in them and a team that is ready to prove their doubters wrong.
