A house fire in Oakville, Ontario has left no injuries, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon at a residence on Lakeshore Road West. Firefighters were called to the scene around 2:30 p.m. and were able to quickly contain the blaze.
According to the Oakville Fire Department, the fire started in the basement of the home and spread to the main floor. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Fortunately, all occupants of the house were able to safely evacuate before the fire spread. No injuries were reported.
The fire department was able to extinguish the flames within an hour, but the house sustained significant damage. The estimated cost of the damage is currently unknown.
Residents in the area were advised to avoid the area while emergency crews worked to put out the fire. Lakeshore Road West was temporarily closed between Fourth Line and Third Line.
The Oakville Fire Department is reminding residents to always have working smoke alarms in their homes and to have a fire escape plan in case of emergencies.
