The body of a trucker has been discovered in a trailer in Newfoundland, after a failed police search in Ontario.
According to authorities, the trucker, who has not been identified, was reported missing on March 31st after failing to arrive at his destination in Newfoundland. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) launched a search for the missing trucker, but were unable to locate him.
However, on April 5th, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) contacted the RNC to inform them that they had located the trucker’s abandoned truck in a parking lot in Ontario. The OPP had conducted a search of the area, but were unable to locate the trucker.
The RNC then contacted the trucking company, who provided them with the location of the trailer that the trucker had been hauling. The RNC, along with the assistance of the Newfoundland and Labrador Search and Rescue Association, conducted a search of the trailer and discovered the body of the missing trucker.
The RNC has stated that the cause of death is not believed to be suspicious, and the investigation has been turned over to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The trucker’s family has been notified of his death, and the RNC is offering their condolences to the family during this difficult time.
The RNC is reminding the public to always check in with loved ones and employers when travelling long distances, and to report any concerns or information to the police. They are also thanking the OPP and the trucking company for their assistance in this investigation.
This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the dangers that come with the trucking industry, and the importance of safety measures and communication while on the road. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased trucker during this difficult time.
