B.C. father and son team up for Peking to Paris car rally

A father and son from British Columbia have embarked on an epic journey, participating in the Peking to Paris car rally.

The rally, which began on August 29th, will take the duo on a 14,000-kilometer journey through 11 countries, ending in Paris on September 17th.

The father, 60-year-old Peter Lovett, and his son, 30-year-old Paul Lovett, are driving a 1937 Chevrolet Master Deluxe, which has been in their family for over 50 years.

The Peking to Paris rally is known as one of the toughest vintage car rallies in the world, with participants facing challenging terrain and unpredictable weather conditions.

The Lovetts have been preparing for this rally for over a year, making sure their car is in top condition and studying the route meticulously.

Peter Lovett, who has participated in other vintage car rallies before, says that this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bond with his son and share their love for vintage cars.

The duo has already faced some challenges, including a flat tire and a broken fan belt, but they have been able to overcome them with the help of their support team.

The Peking to Paris rally is not just a race, but also a chance for participants to experience different cultures and landscapes along the way.

The Lovetts have been documenting their journey on social media, sharing photos and videos of their adventures and the people they meet along the way.

They have also been raising money for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation, with a goal of $10,000.

As they continue on their journey, the Lovetts are determined to finish the rally and make their way to the finish line in Paris.

Their determination and passion for vintage cars have inspired many, and their journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and the bond between a father and son.

We wish the Lovetts all the best on their journey and look forward to hearing about their experiences when they return home.
