One person injured after scooter and unmarked police vehicle collide in West Queen West

A collision between a scooter and an unmarked police vehicle in the West Queen West neighborhood has left one person injured.

According to Toronto police, the incident occurred on Friday evening at the intersection of Queen Street West and Dovercourt Road. The scooter, which was traveling eastbound on Queen Street, collided with the unmarked police vehicle as it was turning onto Dovercourt Road.

The rider of the scooter, a 25-year-old man, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The officer driving the unmarked police vehicle was not injured.

The intersection was closed for several hours as police investigated the scene. It has since been reopened.

The circumstances leading up to the collision are still under investigation. It is unclear at this time who had the right of way or if any charges will be laid.
