Quebec Provincial Police are currently investigating after a body was discovered in Lac Saint-Jean on Monday morning.
According to authorities, the body was found by a passerby near the shore of the lake in the municipality of Saint-Gédéon. The individual immediately contacted the police, who arrived at the scene shortly after.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed, and the cause of death is still unknown. However, police have stated that the body appears to have been in the water for some time.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward. They are also asking for the public’s cooperation in avoiding the area while they conduct their investigation.
This is not the first time a body has been found in Lac Saint-Jean. In 2019, the body of a 25-year-old man was discovered in the lake, and in 2018, the body of a 19-year-old woman was also found.
The Quebec Provincial Police are working diligently to determine the circumstances surrounding this latest discovery and provide answers to the victim’s loved ones.
