A suspect has been seriously injured in York, Ontario after ammunition detonated in a fire, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
The incident occurred on Monday evening at a residence on Highway 48 near Davis Drive in the town of East Gwillimbury.
According to the OPP, officers were called to the scene after receiving reports of a fire at the residence. Upon arrival, they discovered that ammunition had detonated in the fire, causing serious injuries to the suspect.
The suspect was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.
The OPP has not released any information about the identity of the suspect or the cause of the fire. The investigation is ongoing.
Residents in the area were advised to avoid the area while emergency crews responded to the incident.
