Brooks, Alberta – The Brooks Bandits have emerged victorious in the Rocky Mountain Challenge, defeating the Surrey Eagles with a score of 4-1. The highly anticipated game took place on Saturday night at the Centennial Regional Arena in Brooks.
The Bandits, who currently hold the top spot in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) standings, were determined to maintain their winning streak. They came out strong in the first period, with forward Simon Gravel scoring the first goal of the game just four minutes in.
The Eagles, who are currently in third place in the AJHL standings, fought back in the second period, with forward Holden Katzalay scoring a goal to tie the game. However, the Bandits quickly regained their lead with a goal from defenseman Corson Ceulemans.
In the third period, the Bandits continued to dominate, with forward Jakob Lee scoring a goal just two minutes in. The Eagles tried to make a comeback, but were unable to get past the Bandits’ strong defense. The game ended with a final goal from Bandits’ forward Nathan Plessis, securing their victory with a final score of 4-1.
