Attention all singers! A unique opportunity awaits you in Edmonton’s Churchill Square this June. A pop-up choir is seeking talented vocalists to join them on Monday nights for a month-long musical experience.
The idea for this pop-up choir came from local musician and choir director, Sarah Johnson. She wanted to create a space for people to come together and share their love for singing, regardless of their experience or skill level.
“I believe that singing is a powerful way to connect with others and bring joy to our community,” Johnson said.
The pop-up choir will meet every Monday night in June from 7-9pm in Churchill Square. The first rehearsal will take place on June 7th, and the final performance will be on June 28th.
Participants are not required to have any previous singing experience or to commit to attending every rehearsal. Johnson encourages anyone who loves to sing to come out and join in the fun.
“We welcome all voices, from beginners to professionals, to come and be a part of this unique musical experience,” Johnson said.
The pop-up choir will be performing a variety of popular songs, ranging from classic hits to modern favorites. Johnson has carefully selected a diverse repertoire to appeal to a wide audience.
The location of Churchill Square was chosen for its central and accessible location, making it easy for people to join in on the fun. The square also provides a beautiful outdoor setting for the choir to perform in.
This pop-up choir is a free event, open to all ages. Participants are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets to sit on during rehearsals and performances.
So, if you have a passion for singing and want to be a part of a unique musical experience, mark your calendars for Monday nights in June and head down to Churchill Square. Let your voice be heard and join the pop-up choir!
