Ontario animal welfare agency seeks donations after taking in 12 Shih Tzu dogs

The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA) is seeking donations after taking in 12 Shih Tzu dogs in need of urgent care.

According to the OSPCA, the dogs were surrendered by their owner and were found to be in poor health. They were immediately taken to a veterinary clinic for treatment.

The OSPCA is now asking for donations to help cover the cost of the dogs’ medical care, which includes surgeries, dental work, and medication. The organization estimates that the total cost will be around $10,000.

The OSPCA is also looking for foster homes for the dogs while they recover. Once they are healthy, the dogs will be put up for adoption.

This is not the first time the OSPCA has taken in a large number of animals in need. In 2020, they rescued over 1,000 animals from a single property in eastern Ontario.

The OSPCA relies heavily on donations to continue their important work of rescuing and caring for animals in need. They are a non-profit organization and do not receive government funding.

If you would like to donate to the OSPCA and help these 12 Shih Tzu dogs, you can do so through their website or by calling their donation hotline.

The OSPCA is also reminding the public to report any cases of animal cruelty or neglect. They have a confidential hotline where individuals can report any concerns.

The OSPCA’s mission is to protect and care for animals in need, and with the support of the community, they can continue to do so. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference in the lives of these animals.

Let’s come together and support the OSPCA in their efforts to provide a better life for these 12 Shih Tzu dogs and all animals in need.
