After 300 days in a B.C. shelter, this dog finally found his forever home

After spending 300 days in a shelter in British Columbia, a dog named Max has finally found his forever home.

Max, a 5-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, arrived at the BC SPCA’s Vancouver Branch in June 2020. He was brought in as a stray and had been living in the shelter ever since.

Despite the shelter staff’s best efforts to find him a home, Max was often overlooked by potential adopters due to his age and size. But that all changed when a couple from North Vancouver came across his profile on the BC SPCA’s website.

The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, were immediately drawn to Max’s sweet face and read about his story. They knew they had to meet him.

After a successful meet and greet, the couple decided to adopt Max and give him the loving home he deserved. They were impressed by his calm and gentle demeanor, and knew he would fit perfectly into their family.

Max’s adoption marks a significant milestone for the BC SPCA, as he was the longest resident at the Vancouver Branch. The shelter staff were overjoyed to see him finally find his forever home after such a long wait.

Max’s new family has promised to give him all the love and care he needs, and have already started spoiling him with toys and treats. They are excited to make new memories with Max and give him the happy life he deserves.

The BC SPCA is grateful to Max’s new family for giving him a second chance at a happy life. They also want to remind the public that there are many other animals like Max still waiting for their forever homes at the shelter.

If you are considering adding a furry friend to your family, please consider adopting from a shelter and giving an animal in need a loving home.
