Firefighters quickly extinguish Okanagan Falls brushfire

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a brushfire that broke out in Okanagan Falls on Monday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Eastside Road and Highway 97. According to the BC Wildfire Service, the blaze was approximately 0.01 hectares in size.

Crews from the Okanagan Falls Fire Department and the BC Wildfire Service responded to the scene and were able to contain and extinguish the fire within a few hours.

No structures were threatened by the fire and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

The quick response and efficient efforts of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading and causing any significant damage. The BC Wildfire Service reminds the public to be cautious when using fire outdoors, especially during dry and windy conditions.
