11-year-old ‘Kia Boy’ arrested for alleged month-long crime spree

An 11-year-old boy has been arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico after allegedly going on a crime spree in a stolen Kia.

According to police, the boy, whose identity has not been released due to his age, was first spotted by a witness driving a stolen Kia Soul on Monday afternoon. The witness called 911 and followed the vehicle until police arrived.

The boy then allegedly led police on a chase, reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h before crashing into a fence. He then fled on foot but was quickly apprehended by officers.

Police say the boy is suspected of committing multiple crimes in the stolen vehicle, including breaking into a home and stealing a gun. He is also accused of stealing a different vehicle earlier in the day.

The boy has been charged with multiple offenses, including auto theft, burglary, and fleeing from police. He is currently in custody at the Juvenile Detention Center.

This incident has raised concerns about the age of criminal responsibility and the effectiveness of the juvenile justice system. Some experts argue that children as young as 11 are not capable of fully understanding the consequences of their actions and should not be held criminally responsible.

However, others argue that the severity of the crimes committed by the boy warrants a harsher punishment. The case will now be handled by the juvenile court system, which will determine the appropriate course of action.

This is a developing story and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
