Tragedy struck in Haldimand County yesterday as one person lost their life in a collision. The incident occurred on Highway 6 near Concession 11 Walpole, just south of Caledonia.
According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the collision involved two vehicles and happened around 3:30 p.m. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The OPP’s Technical Collision Investigators and the Haldimand County Crime Unit were called to the scene to investigate the cause of the collision. The highway was closed for several hours as they gathered evidence and cleared the scene.
At this time, it is unclear what led to the collision and if any other individuals were injured. The OPP is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
