The Florida Panthers have vowed to come back stronger in Game 2 after a disappointing loss to the Edmonton Oilers in the first game of their playoff series.
In a post-game press conference, Panthers’ captain Aleksander Barkov expressed his team’s determination to bounce back and play better in the next game. “We know we didn’t play our best tonight,” Barkov said. “But we have a strong team and we will regroup and come back stronger in Game 2.”
The Panthers, who finished the regular season with a record of 37-14-5, were heavily favored going into the series against the Oilers. However, they were unable to match the intensity and physicality of the Oilers in Game 1, resulting in a 4-1 loss.
Despite the disappointing result, Panthers’ head coach Joel Quenneville remains confident in his team’s abilities. “We have a lot of talent and experience on this team,” Quenneville said. “We just need to regroup and focus on playing our game in the next game.”
The Oilers, on the other hand, are riding high after their Game 1 victory. Captain Connor McDavid, who scored two goals in the game, believes his team can continue their momentum in Game 2. “We played a solid game tonight and we just need to keep that same energy and focus in the next game,” McDavid said.
The Panthers and Oilers will face off again in Game 2 on Friday night. The Panthers will be looking to even the series while the Oilers will be aiming to take a commanding 2-0 lead. It promises to be an intense and exciting game as both teams battle for a spot in the next round of the playoffs.
