Two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery and sexual assault that occurred in Waterloo in February.
According to Waterloo Regional Police, a man and a woman were taken into custody on Wednesday, April 21, following an investigation into the incident that took place on February 12.
The suspects, whose identities have not been released, are facing charges of robbery and sexual assault.
Police say the victim, a 25-year-old woman, was walking in the area of King Street North and University Avenue West when she was approached by the suspects. They allegedly demanded her personal belongings and then sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene.
The victim was able to provide a description of the suspects, which led to their identification and subsequent arrest.
The investigation is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
