Dawgs stay home to win rare road game at Seaman Stadium

The Okotoks Dawgs made history on Saturday night as they secured a rare road victory at Seaman Stadium. The team, known for their dominance on home turf, stayed put in their own ballpark and still managed to come out on top against the Edmonton Prospects.

The game started off strong for the Dawgs, with a two-run homer from designated hitter, Tristan Peters, in the first inning. This set the tone for the rest of the game, as the Dawgs continued to dominate at the plate.

Pitcher, Ben Erwin, also played a crucial role in the team’s success, throwing six scoreless innings and striking out eight batters. His impressive performance earned him the title of Player of the Game.

Despite a late rally from the Prospects in the ninth inning, the Dawgs held on to their lead and secured a 5-3 victory. This marks only the second time in the team’s history that they have won a road game at Seaman Stadium.

Head coach, Mitch Schmidt, praised his team’s resilience and determination, stating, “It’s not easy to win on the road, especially against a tough opponent like the Prospects. But our players showed great focus and executed their game plan perfectly.”

The Dawgs’ victory puts them at the top of the Western Canadian Baseball League’s Western Division with a record of 6-2. They will look to continue their winning streak as they face off against the Lethbridge Bulls on Sunday.

Fans can catch all the action live at Seaman Stadium or tune in to the Dawgs’ live stream. With their impressive performance on Saturday, the Dawgs have proven that they are a force to be reckoned with, both at home and on the road.
