Three individuals have been charged after a routine traffic stop led to the discovery of illegal drugs, according to police.
On Tuesday, officers from the Brockville Police Service conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the city’s downtown area. During the stop, officers observed suspicious behavior from the occupants of the vehicle, prompting them to conduct a search.
As a result of the search, police found and seized a significant quantity of illegal drugs, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. The estimated street value of the drugs is approximately $10,000.
Three individuals, two men and one woman, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident. The charges include possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.
The accused have been identified as 33-year-old Brockville resident, John Smith, 29-year-old Ottawa resident, Jane Doe, and 27-year-old Kingston resident, Jack Jones. All three individuals were held for a bail hearing and are currently in police custody.
