A Prince George man has been taken into police custody in Grande Prairie after allegedly stealing a Wonderbread truck.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Tuesday morning when the truck was reported missing from a local grocery store. The truck was later spotted by a witness driving erratically on the highway.
The witness immediately contacted the police, who were able to locate and stop the truck. The driver, identified as 32-year-old John Smith, was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Smith had no prior criminal record and was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the incident.
The stolen truck was returned to its rightful owner, and no injuries were reported during the incident.
