The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) in British Columbia are currently on the lookout for a pickup truck driver after two abandoned houses were set on fire in Merritt.

According to authorities, the first fire was reported on April 29 at around 11:30 p.m. in the 2300 block of Coutlee Avenue. The second fire occurred just a few hours later at around 2:30 a.m. on April 30 in the 2300 block of Nicola Avenue.

Both houses were abandoned and no injuries were reported. However, the fires caused significant damage to the structures.

The RCMP is now seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the driver of a white pickup truck that was seen in the area at the time of the fires. The truck is described as a newer model with a black canopy and a loud exhaust.
