A firefighter was injured while battling a three-alarm blaze in midtown Toronto on Tuesday evening.
The fire broke out at a commercial building on Yonge Street, near Eglinton Avenue, around 6:30 p.m. According to Toronto Fire Services, the blaze quickly escalated to a three-alarm fire, requiring multiple fire crews to respond.
One firefighter sustained minor injuries while fighting the flames and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown.
The fire was brought under control by 8 p.m., but crews remained on the scene to ensure there were no hot spots or flare-ups.
No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
