1. Impaired Driving Arrest
On Monday, June 14th, 2021, at approximately 11:30 PM, West Grey Police officers responded to a call about a possible impaired driver in the area of Grey Road 4 and Grey Road 3. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 32-year-old male from West Grey, was arrested and charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg. He was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
2. Break and Enter
On Tuesday, June 15th, 2021, West Grey Police received a report of a break and enter at a residence on Concession 2 in Bentinck Township. The incident is believed to have occurred between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The suspect(s) gained entry through a window and stole various items, including jewelry and electronics. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the West Grey Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
3. Stolen Vehicle Recovered
On Wednesday, June 16th, 2021, West Grey Police received a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence on Grey Road 4 in Bentinck Township. The vehicle, a 2019 black Ford F-150, was taken sometime between 10:00 PM on June 15th and 6:00 AM on June 16th. Later that day, the vehicle was located in the City of Owen Sound, and a 25-year-old male from Owen Sound was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. The investigation is ongoing, and further charges are pending.
4. Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Charges
On Thursday, June 17th, 2021, at approximately 2:00 AM, West Grey Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Grey Road 4 in Bentinck Township. During the stop, officers discovered a quantity of suspected cocaine and drug paraphernalia. As a result, a 25-year-old male from Hanover was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
