Woman with brain tumour credits TTC operator with saving her life

A woman with a brain tumour is crediting a TTC operator for saving her life.

According to reports, 36-year-old Sarah Smith was on her way to work on the TTC subway when she suddenly collapsed. The incident occurred on Monday morning at the Bloor-Yonge station.

TTC operator, John Brown, immediately noticed something was wrong when Smith did not get off the train at her usual stop. He quickly stopped the train and went to check on her. Brown found Smith unconscious and immediately called for medical assistance.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and rushed Smith to the hospital where she underwent emergency surgery. Doctors discovered a brain tumour that had caused her to collapse.

Smith’s family credits Brown for saving her life. They believe that if he had not acted quickly, the outcome could have been much worse.

In a statement, Smith’s sister, Emily, expressed her gratitude towards Brown, saying, “We are forever grateful to John for his quick thinking and actions. He truly saved my sister’s life.”

Brown, who has been a TTC operator for over 10 years, says he was just doing his job. “I am glad I was able to help and that she is now receiving the medical attention she needs,” he said.

The TTC also commended Brown for his quick response and praised him for his dedication to his job.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of being aware of our surroundings and the impact that small acts of kindness can have on someone’s life.

Smith is currently recovering in the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. She plans to personally thank Brown once she is discharged.

The TTC has not released any further information on Smith’s condition, but her family says she is doing well and is grateful to be alive.
