Dogs and car found on Leon Avenue hours after Canada Day theft

Kelowna, BC – A shocking discovery was made on Leon Avenue in Kelowna, just hours after Canada Day celebrations came to an end. A car and two dogs were found abandoned on the street, leading to speculation of a possible theft.

According to witnesses, the car, a black Honda Civic, was seen being driven erratically on Leon Avenue around 2:00 am on July 2nd. The vehicle was then abandoned on the side of the road, with the engine still running and the doors unlocked.

Upon further inspection, two dogs were found inside the car, appearing to be unharmed but visibly distressed. The dogs were immediately taken to a nearby animal shelter for care and evaluation.

The owner of the car, who wishes to remain anonymous, reported the vehicle stolen to the Kelowna RCMP. They stated that the car was taken from their residence on Canada Day, along with the two dogs.

The RCMP is currently investigating the incident and is asking for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. They are also reminding the public to always lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of sight to prevent theft.
