Ribfest ready to start smoking at Kelowna's City Park this weekend

Kelowna’s City Park is about to be filled with the mouth-watering aroma of smoked ribs as Ribfest kicks off this weekend. The highly anticipated event, organized by the Rotary Club of Kelowna, is set to bring together some of the best rib vendors in North America for a three-day celebration of all things BBQ.

Starting on Friday, August 27th, and running until Sunday, August 29th, Ribfest will feature six award-winning rib teams from across Canada and the United States. These teams will be competing for the title of “Best Ribs” as well as the People’s Choice Award, which will be voted on by attendees.

But it’s not just about the ribs. Ribfest will also have a variety of other food options, including pulled pork, chicken, and vegetarian dishes. And for those with a sweet tooth, there will be plenty of desserts to choose from.

In addition to the delicious food, Ribfest will also have live music, a beer garden, and a kids’ zone, making it a fun event for the whole family. And the best part? Admission is free, with all proceeds from food and drink sales going towards local charities and community projects.

Ribfest has become a beloved tradition in Kelowna, drawing in thousands of people each year. And with strict COVID-19 safety protocols in place, organizers are confident that this year’s event will be just as successful.

So mark your calendars and get ready to indulge in some mouth-watering ribs at Kelowna’s City Park this weekend. Ribfest is a must-attend event for all BBQ lovers and a great way to support the community. See you there!
