Police in Scarborough are on the lookout for a suspect in connection with an alleged robbery that took place on Monday evening.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at a convenience store located on Lawrence Avenue East near Markham Road. The suspect reportedly entered the store around 8:30 p.m. and demanded money from the cashier while brandishing a weapon.
The suspect then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported during the incident.
The suspect is described as a male in his mid-20s, approximately 5’10” tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, black pants, and a black baseball cap.
Police have released surveillance footage of the suspect and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him. They are also urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
This is not the first time this particular convenience store has been targeted. In January, a similar robbery took place at the same location.
Authorities are investigating whether the two incidents are connected and are asking anyone with information to contact them immediately.
In the meantime, police are reminding business owners to be vigilant and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety and the safety of their employees.
