‘Significant’ damage after truck crashes into Thompson house, Manitoba RCMP say

A truck has crashed into a house in Thompson, Manitoba, according to the RCMP.

The incident occurred on Monday afternoon, with the truck reportedly losing control and crashing into the front of a residence on Princeton Drive.

The driver of the truck, a 35-year-old man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one inside the house was injured.

The RCMP are currently investigating the cause of the crash, but have stated that alcohol is not believed to be a factor.

The homeowner, who was inside the house at the time of the crash, described the experience as “terrifying” and expressed gratitude that no one was hurt.

The front of the house sustained significant damage, with the truck completely embedded in the structure. The RCMP have confirmed that the house is currently uninhabitable.

Residents in the area have expressed concern over the safety of the road where the crash occurred, citing previous incidents of speeding and reckless driving.

The RCMP are reminding drivers to always obey traffic laws and to drive with caution, especially in residential areas.
