Five individuals have been arrested and three are still wanted in connection with an armed robbery that took place at a downtown Toronto jewellery store last year.
According to police, the incident occurred on December 15, 2020, at a jewellery store located in the area of Yonge and Dundas streets. Five suspects, armed with handguns, entered the store and proceeded to smash display cases and steal a large quantity of jewellery before fleeing the scene.
After an extensive investigation, the Toronto Police Service’s Hold Up Squad was able to identify and arrest five individuals in connection with the robbery. The suspects, all from the Greater Toronto Area, range in age from 19 to 25 years old.
The five arrested individuals have been charged with numerous offences, including robbery with a firearm, disguise with intent, and possession of property obtained by crime. They are currently in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on April 6, 2021.
However, the investigation is ongoing and police are still searching for three additional suspects believed to be involved in the robbery. The three wanted individuals have been identified as 20-year-old Jalen Williams, 21-year-old Javon Downer, and 22-year-old Jalen Downer.
Police are urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of these three suspects to come forward and contact the Hold Up Squad or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
