'I nearly died': WestJet employee and Spice Girls superfan dances with Mel C

A WestJet employee and self-proclaimed Spice Girls superfan had the opportunity of a lifetime when she got to dance with Mel C, also known as Sporty Spice.

The employee, identified as Sarah, shared her experience on social media, saying that she “nearly died” from excitement. She had been working at the Calgary International Airport when she spotted Mel C, who was in town for a concert.

Sarah approached Mel C and asked for a photo, but the singer went above and beyond by inviting her to dance with her backstage. The two danced to the iconic Spice Girls hit “Wannabe” and Sarah couldn’t contain her joy.

In an interview with CTV News, Sarah said that she has been a fan of the Spice Girls since she was a child and that this experience was a dream come true. She also expressed her gratitude to Mel C for being so kind and down-to-earth.

The video of their dance has since gone viral, with many fans and fellow employees at WestJet expressing their excitement and happiness for Sarah.

This is not the first time that WestJet employees have made headlines for their interactions with celebrities. In 2019, a group of employees surprised passengers with a flash mob performance of the Spice Girls’ hit song “Spice Up Your Life” to celebrate the airline’s inaugural flight to London.

WestJet has gained a reputation for its fun and friendly culture, and this latest encounter with Mel C only adds to their positive image.

As for Sarah, she will surely never forget the day she danced with her childhood idol. And for all the Spice Girls fans out there, this serves as a reminder that dreams can come true, even in the most unexpected ways.
