Toronto Police have charged a 17-year-old male for allegedly threatening to sexually assault a woman in the city.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Monday, February 8th, when the accused approached a woman in the area of Yonge and Dundas Streets and made explicit threats towards her.
The victim immediately contacted police and provided a description of the suspect. The Toronto Police Service’s Sex Crimes Unit launched an investigation and were able to identify and locate the accused.
The 17-year-old, who cannot be named due to his age, has been charged with one count of uttering threats to cause bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 25th.
Police are reminding the public to always be aware of their surroundings and to report any suspicious or threatening behavior to authorities.
