A man from Saskatchewan has been arrested in Brampton and charged with attempted murder and other offences, according to police.
The incident occurred on Monday, March 15, when officers responded to a call about a shooting in the area of Queen Street East and Kennedy Road. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.
After an investigation, 26-year-old Brandon Smith from Saskatchewan was arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and discharging a firearm with intent.
Police have not released any information about the relationship between the victim and the accused, or a possible motive for the shooting.
Smith appeared in court on Tuesday, March 16, and has been remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Friday, March 19.
